Loan repayment at a glance

Both of our clinics are approved sites for HRSA’s National Health Service Corps (NHSC) and Nurse Corps loan repayment programs. Awards are paid by the federal government toward your qualifying education loans in exchange for a service commitment. Amounts below are from HRSA’s 2026 cycle.

Nurse practitioners can choose either program. NHSC is usually the better fit — it's tax-free and allows half-time schedules — unless your nursing-school debt is very high, where Nurse Corps' 60% can come out ahead. Physician assistants use NHSC.

You can hold only one federal service commitment at a time, funding is competitive, and leaving early carries HRSA penalties. HRSA sets amounts and rules each cycle and its guidance controls — see nhsc.hrsa.gov and bhw.hrsa.gov.

Where are your clinics?
Ashland City Clinic is at 106 Duke Street, Ashland City, TN 37015 (Cheatham County, about 25 minutes from downtown Nashville). Circle of Life Clinic is at 189 Andrew Drive, Oneida, TN 37841 (Scott County). Some behavioral health roles also include telehealth.
Do you offer part-time positions?
Yes. Most clinical roles can be anything from one day a week, to a few days a week, up to full time.
Do you hire new graduates?
Yes. New-graduate NPs and PAs can apply to our staff roles or our one-year Rural Primary Care Fellowship. Our Masters Level Counselor roles are designed for associate-licensed clinicians (LMSW, LMFT-A, LPC-MHSP temp).
Is student loan repayment available?
Yes. Both clinics are approved sites for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program and the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program, both run by HRSA. NHSC covers NPs, PAs and fully licensed behavioral health clinicians (LCSW, LMFT, LPC-MHSP, psychologists). Nurse Corps covers nurse practitioners, including psychiatric NPs, and RNs. See “Loan repayment at a glance” above for 2026 award amounts.
I’m a nurse practitioner — should I choose NHSC or Nurse Corps?
NPs can apply to either, but can hold only one at a time. NHSC pays a fixed amount (up to $75,000 for two years full time, or $37,500 half time), tax-free, and allows part-time schedules. Nurse Corps pays 60% of your nursing-education loans over two years (plus an optional third year for another 25%), but it is taxable and requires at least 32 hours a week. For most NPs NHSC comes out ahead; Nurse Corps tends to win only when nursing debt is very high. Physician assistants use NHSC.
Do part-time clinicians qualify for loan repayment?
Often. NHSC offers half-time awards for 20–39 hours a week (at least 16 in patient care), so about three clinic days a week can qualify. Nurse Corps requires at least 32 hours a week.
When can I apply for loan repayment?
Once a year. Both programs usually open in winter and close in spring (in 2026, NHSC closed March 26 and Nurse Corps ran January 29 – March 12), with awards announced by September 30. You need to be working here, or for NHSC have accepted our offer, when you apply.
What does the hiring process look like?

What benefits do you offer?
Our positions are W-2 with health insurance, paid time off and a retirement plan, plus sign-on and retention bonuses. Providers also receive malpractice coverage, a CME allowance, and license and certification reimbursement.

Final-year NP and PA students can apply to HRSA’s NHSC Students to Service program (up to $120,000 for three years of full-time service at an approved site like ours) before graduating. Once licensed and working here, you can apply to NHSC or Nurse Corps in the next cycle.
