Our medical assistants keep the clinic day running and help patients with multiple chronic conditions stay healthy and out of the hospital. You'll support our providers during visits and handle outreach, care coordination, health education and documentation under the supervision of a licensed provider.
Clinical & administrative duties
- Take and record vital signs
- Prepare exam rooms and assist during patient visits
- Update patient records, medication lists and problem lists
- Respond to patient portal messages and triage calls
- Schedule preventive care and annual wellness visits
- Support referrals and care coordination with specialists and community services
- Perform phlebotomy and administer vaccines in line with the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program
Compliance
- Follow HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
- Follow infection-control and safety policies
- Take part in training on Medicare rules and updates
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certification preferred (CMA, RMA, CCMA or similar)
- Familiarity with an EHR such as eClinicalWorks
- Strong communication, organization and time-management skills

Will I be trained on phlebotomy and vaccines?
You'll get on-site training on our workflows, eClinicalWorks, and our Vaccines for Children procedures. Prior phlebotomy experience is a plus.
