Dr. Payant brings over two decades of frontline medical experience to Elderberry Health, including 21 years as an emergency physician before joining our team, and now serves as Medical Director. A Fentress County local, he went to medical school at UT Health Sciences in Memphis and trained in Family Medicine at the University of Tennessee in Jackson. Patients appreciate his calm, unhurried approach and the hard-won diagnostic instincts that come from years spent managing everything from everyday illness to life-threatening emergencies.

Erika Lynch is a Scott County native who built her career from the ground up — starting at TCAT Oneida, earning her BSN and ASN at Lincoln Memorial University, and completing her Master of Science in Nursing at Tennessee Tech in 2023. Before joining Circle of Life Clinic, she spent years as an ER Charge Nurse at Big South Fork Medical Center. Patients love her energy, her warmth, and the fact that she genuinely grew up in this community.
